Overview

Overview

SelfMag Transfection Kits, based on the Magnetofection™ Technology, allow creating your own magnetic delivery system. The molecule of interest is covalently coupled by using the surface reactive carboxyl or amino groups of the magnetic nanoparticles. The resulting coupled magnetic nanoparticles are delivered intracellularly with a unique MagFectin reagent.
Each kit contains magnetic nanoparticles (carboxy or amino-functionalized), coupling, washing and storage buffers, EDC coupling reagent, a MagID (magnetic device for buffer exchange  and washing steps), a MagFectin delivery reagent and a super magnetic plate. These kits have been successfully tested to deliver different types of molecules inside cells (proteins, enzymes, peptides, small molecules).
  • Suitable for the delivery of biologically active molecules
  • Mono dispersed and size-controlled magnetic nanoparticles
  • Ready to use coupling, washing and storage buffers
  • Highly efficient MagFectin delivery reagent
  • Easy handling and fast results
Storage: -20°C for EDC reagent and +4°C for all other components
Shipping Conditions: Room Temperature

SelfMag amino beads

Figure 1: Coupling of a molecule (L) onto SelfMag amino beads. Depending on the chemical nature of the molecule of interest, coupling onto SelfMag amino beads can be performed using various cross-linkers :carboxyl-containing molecules can be attached using N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N′-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC, included in the Kit) ; sulfhydryl-containing molecules can be linked via a N-succinimidyl-3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionate cross-linker (SPDP, not included), and aldehyde-containing molecules can be attached by reductive amination using sodium cyanoborohydride (NaBH3CN, not included).

SelfMag Carboxy beads

Figure 2: Coupling of a molecule (L) onto SelfMag carboxy beads.amine-containing molecules can be linked to the SelfMag carboxy nanoparticles using N-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)-N′-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC, included in the Kit).
