The tribological behavior of high pressure application products depends heavily on gas environment and pressure. Chemical reactions and dissolution rates play an important role in the processes at contacting surfaces.

Rtec Instruments high pressure tribometer runs ball on disk and pin on disk tribology test under high pressure. Rigid chamber construction, wide load range up to 2000 N  to simulate several high pressure tribology applications.

High Pressure Tribometer Features

Real-time programmable force control, patented capacitive sensors to measure friction, in-line total wear scar depth, and temperature. The ease of use and safe operations makes this tester highly reliable and repeatable.

Temperature Control Integrated chillers and heaters control test temperature from -35 to 100 °C during the test.

Force Sensors The patented force sensor has no effect on force measurement due to high pressure or gases in the chamber.

Safety Each chamber is ASME certified and stamped for pressure rating.
